Power To The Players

It’s sad that we even need to say it. Free speech is the foundation of a free society. No exceptions, no stipulations. If it gets you cancelled, it needs to be said and Bottom Up is the place to say it. 

Just because you’re allowed to say what you want doesn’t mean it’s not a dumb idea. But that’s okay, the Academy of Ideas was built on a culture of debating truth at the edge of our understanding. When the speech of free people is allowed to fairly compete in the marketplace of ideas, we trust that together we’ll arrive somewhere a little less ignorant than where we started.

Tribalism worked great when we were tribal. These days we share air with people from all around the world, all walks of life, all day long. We gotta get along. And like it or not, that means getting along with people of every color, class, creed, and whatever other C word you can come up with. If you’re welcoming, you’re welcome here even if you’re a weirdo like us.

If you’re into evil, corporate, robots, there’s a conference in Davos with your name on it. In a world filled with lies, corruption, and degeneracy, we stand for humanity. Bring your whole self to the table, be honest in your actions, and you’re alright with us. Seeing as there’s only a decade or so before robots enslave humanity, might as well party with some real homies before the end.

We know, it’s not a popular take among the corrupt oligarchs of the 21st century, but we live in a society and WE are that society. Our world is only as great as the sum of our individual greatness. And sure, it’s way more profitable for all the worst people in the world for us to be sick, lazy, serfs waiting on a handout from some benevolent overlord. But we’re over it. This is a movement by the people. And if we want a bad ass movement, we’re gonna need to be bad ass people.
